Spokesman for the Nigerian Army, Brigadier-General Chis Olukolade, has rescinded rumour of the release of some of the abducted Chibok schoolgirls by member of the Boko Haram sect.

There have been speculations that some of the girls have been released to military authorities but the Army spokesperson said there were girls in the military custody but that they were not those abducted from Chibok as originallyspeculated.

Over 200 girls were abducted by the dreaded insurgent group from a boarding school in the north-eastern Borno State on April 15, 2014.
