IdrissaTimta, Emir of Gwoza is dead. He died during a gun battle between Nigerian Security forces and suspected members of the Boko Haram sect.
The gun duel ensued shortly after the deceased and IsmailaMamza, Emir of Uba, his colleague were kidnapped in the early hours of Friday on their way to attend the burial of the late ShehuAbubakar, Emir of Gombe who died in a London Hospital, earlier this week.
A source said while Mamzasurvived the attack, and was later found in the bush by soldiers who confronted the kidnappers, Timtawas feared dead.
Top security officials confirmed the Emir’s deathand said, “It was really sad that the Emir of Gwozadropped dead in the attack; but his colleague, Emir of Uba managed to escape unhurt.”
