There has been an explosion at the Central Mosque, Kano this afternoon as Muslim faithful were observing the Friday Jumat service.
The Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido usually leads prayers at the mosque but he was said not to have been at the mosque this afternoon.
Although casualty figures were yet to be ascertained as at the time of filing this report, many people were said to have died.
