Babatunde Fashola, immediate past governor of Lagos state has emerged the star in the newly constituted cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari. The former governor was appointed minister of Power, Works and Housing. This is obviously the largest of the 25 ministries into which the federal government collapsed all federal ministries.
Hitherto the ministries of power and works are two very big ministries, which are very crucial to development in the country. For instance, the ministry of power is laden with the burden of providing electricity for the country, while the ministry of works is expected to provide the needed infrastructure, which is desperately required to boost the economy of the country.
Rotimi Amaechi, formerly governor of Rivers state is minister of Transport. Under his ministry is Aviation, which used to be a separate ministry. Chris Ngige, also of former governor of Anambra state is to supervise the new ministry of labour and employment. Lai Mohammed, former publicity secretary of the ruling All Peoples Congress, APC is minister of Information. Kemi Adeosun who was formerly commissioner for finance in Ogun state is the new minister of finance.
We will give you the full list shortly.
