Murtala Nyako, Son Declared Wanted

Murtala Nyako, former governor of Adamawa State and and Abdul Aziz Murtala Nyako, his son have been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

According to the anti graft agency, Nyako and his son are wanted over alleged criminal offenses ranging from stealing, abuse of office and money laundering.

The notice was made known on Wednesday by Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC spokesperson in a statement.

He stated that both the impeached former governor and his son are “wanted in a case of criminal conspiracy, stealing, abuse of office and money laundering.”

At the heat of the former governor’s political intrigues which saw his impeachment by the state assembly members last year, the EFCC had frozen the state government’s bank accounts; a move it claimed was to prevent Nyako and his conspirators from further plundering the state treasury.
