Obasa appoints Oyetayo, former Tell Reporter, as Media Aide

Mudashiru Obasa, the Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly has appointed Adeshina Oyetayo, a seasoned journalist and public relations guru, as Special Adviser on Research, Media, and Documentation. The appointment takes effect from March 2025.

Before starting his own outfit, Oyetayo was a staff writer at TELL Magazine and a columnist with The Punch newspaper.
Until his appointment, Oyetayo was the Chief Executive Officer/Editor-in-Chief of XS-Proficient Media Services Ltd and Managing Editor of the Lagos Indicator magazine.
He will leverage his extensive background to impact, influence, and advance the communication strategy of the Lagos Speaker’s office.

He started his career at TELL Magazine in 2002 and later became a columnist with Punch Newspaper in 2010. He also worked as an undercover reporter for BBC Africa Eye, and authored the book “Behind the Streets,” a profile of notable personalities in Lagos.

An award-winning journalist, Oyetayo was
a finalist in the CNN/MultiChoice African Journalist of the Year award in 2006 and winner of the Best Music Writer at the MTV MAMA Awards in 2010.

He studied Mass Communication at Osun State Polytechnic and Philosophy at the University of Lagos, equipping him with the skills to excel in his new role.
