The People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Abia State has berated the opposition, Progressive Peoples Alliance, PPA in the state over its recent comments suggesting that the PDP led government has ruined the state.
PPA had also vowed to reclaim the state from the ruling party at the 2015 general elections.
In a swift reaction, the state chapter of the PDP speaking through Uchechi Ogbuka, its Publicity Secretary, described the claim as the rantings of a frustrated and drowning party that has resorted to propaganda as an awareness strategy.
Ogbuka said PPA was simply expressing unwarranted fury because the Theodore Orji led government has achieved in four years what the PPA could not achieve in ten years of ruling the state.
“Abias now know better and can never be taken back to Egypt by a non- existent party owned and administered by one man who had subjected Abia to servitude for almost a decade before Governor Orji courageously confronted him and set Abia free,” Ogbuka claimed.
Advancing his claim further, Ogbuka said, “PPA is dead and has long been buried” adding that the state started experiencing visible development when Orji joined PDP.
“Abians have seen the difference between a people-oriented political party and a personal estate disguising as party,” he added.
