SDP Mourns Adamawa Governorship Candidate

Members and supporters of the Social Democratic Party, SDP in Adamawa State are presently in a sad mood as the party lost Hakila Yerima, its gubernatorial candidate.

Yerima won the governorship primary election of the party conducted on December 6, 2014.

John Luka, the state secretary of the party who confirmed the death on Tuesday said Yerima died on January 6, 2015, exactly one month after he was declared the standard bearer of the party in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.

Luka noted that Yerima took ill immediately after he won the party’s primary and was hospitalized in Gombe State for liver related illness.

The party’s secretary added that Yerima had on December 27, 2014 tendered his intention to withdraw his candidacy in the governorship election due to his failing health.
