President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, as the Renewed Hope Ambassador ahead of the national launch of the Federal Government’s Ward Development Programme.
According to a State House statement issued on Tuesday by presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, the appointment takes immediate effect and positions Governor Uzodimma as the central figure in driving nationwide outreach, mobilisation, and public engagement for the administration’s programmes.
In his new role, Uzodimma will also serve as the Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement and Mobilisation. He is expected to work closely with the All-Progressives Congress (APC) leadership and governors to promote the Tinubu administration’s programmes and strengthen grassroots participation.
The President tasked the Imo State governor—who also chairs the Progressive Governors Forum—with ensuring harmony, inclusiveness, and strategic coordination across all party structures. APC governors will likewise serve as Ambassadors of Hope in their respective states.
President Tinubu emphasised that the administration’s achievements since 2023 must be effectively communicated to Nigerians. He highlighted key economic gains, including the continued decline in inflation—which dropped for the seventh consecutive month to 16.05% in October—the stabilised exchange rate, and the rise in Foreign Exchange reserves to over $46 billion from the $32 billion inherited in 2023.
The statement also noted renewed investor confidence, increased foreign direct and portfolio investments, and a boom in the oil, gas, and solid minerals sectors. Nigeria’s stock market has also experienced record growth.
Additionally, over 700,000 students have already benefited from the government’s liberalised educational loan scheme, while passport processing timelines have improved significantly, with applicants no longer waiting beyond one week.
President Tinubu charged Governor Uzodimma to ensure Nigerians fully understand these achievements and the ongoing progress under the Renewed Hope agenda.
