Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has threatened to acquire a disputed land between Bomu and Lewe communities in Ogoniland and convert it to a mortuary if the people of the feuding communities failed to resolve their differences.
The governor made the threat when he laid the foundation stone of Government Secondary School, Kpor in Gokana Local Government Area of the state.
“Since I know you are killing yourselves, I want to build a mortuary in Bomu and Lewe. I will show that all these things you are doing, see where they will put you when you die.”
He said he would meet with the leaders of the warring communities and carry out his threat if they failed to agree to end the protracted conflict.
He thanked Ogoni people for supporting him during the time he was campaigning for votes. “No matter how we have not been doing well, they have continued to give us support; they have encouraged us to fulfill the promise we made to them. We must thank them,” he said.
