It was without a doubt the night for new comers and upcoming artists at the 57th Grammy Awards, which took place at Los Angeles, US on Sunday, February 8.
There were surprising wins for some artists like music stars, Sam Smith and Beck.
Sam Smith, a new artist, took home the major awards of the night. He won awards for Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Best New Artist. Beck, real name Bek David Campbell shocked the world by winning the Album of the Year Award, the most coveted category of the Grammy Awards.
Though the stars were the night’s biggest winners, their wins represent just a small fraction of the 87 awards dished out.
Some of this year’s winners include Beyonce, Pharell and Rosanne Cash, who pulled in three awards each.
Others include, Lady Gaga and Bennett, who won for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album, Tiesto, who won for Best Remixed Recording, Non-classical and Rihanna nabbed a Grammy for Best Rap/Song Collaboration with Eminem.
The event also witnessed electrifying performances from Rihanna, Pharell and Madonna.
