In a major win for industrial development in Nigeria, Mamuda Group Nigeria Limited has announced a $50 million investment in Ogun State through its subsidiary, Mamuda Beverages. The project, which is set to break ground next month, is a key milestone in Ogun’s growing reputation as a prime destination for manufacturing and economic expansion.

The investment will roll out in phases and will eventually span across multiple sectors including food production, personal care, and agro-processing. Initially, the project will employ 1,500 workers, with that number expected to double to 3,000 as operations scale—creating thousands of new jobs and reinforcing the state’s industrial base.

Mamuda Group, headquartered in Kano, is one of Nigeria’s leading conglomerates with more than 13,000 employees nationwide. The company operates in key sectors including leather exports, agro-sack production, confectionery, beverages, and personal care products. The expansion into Ogun State marks a strategic move to tap into the state’s logistical advantages and investor-friendly climate.

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun expressed pride in the new development, stating that the investment is a direct result of the administration’s commitment to providing a business-friendly environment.

“We’re focused on making Ogun the top destination for industrial growth in Nigeria,” he said. “Our strategic location—bordering Lagos and connecting to Ibadan and Benin—makes us ideal for manufacturing and regional distribution.”

The state government has invested heavily in infrastructure to support such growth, including the launch of Nigeria’s most advanced airport and a licensed dry port with direct rail access. These facilities are expected to streamline logistics, reduce operational costs, and attract even more investment into the region.

Mr. Hammoud, representing Mamuda Group, praised Ogun’s supportive policies and strategic advantages. “Ogun State offers the right blend of location, infrastructure, and government support. It’s the perfect launchpad for our southern operations,” he noted.

With tools like the Business Environment Council and continued investment in critical infrastructure, Ogun State is rapidly becoming a hub for industrial transformation, offering investors not just opportunity—but long-term confidence.

This development signals a new era of growth, employment, and prosperity in Ogun—and reaffirms the state’s position at the forefront of Nigeria’s industrial future.
