The issue of who emerges as the Presidential standard bearer of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the February 2015 Presidential elections is one that is generating a lot of interests among Nigerians.
And the reason for such interest is not far-fetched. Friends and foes alike are watching keenly how the coalition of opposition parties in Nigeria handles the delicate matter of selecting its Presidential candidate. For the APC, the process presents a make or mar situation. If it manages to pick the right candidate, the party would give incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan a major competition at the polls. If not, the rancor that may follow could sound the death knell for the relatively young party.
Indeed, so much is at stake and the leading contenders for the APC ticket are leaving no stones unturned in their quest. That is the crux of our cover story this week titled, “APC’s War of Attrition.” It is a must read!
