“Boko Haram Insurgency Will End In July”-Archbishop Atilade

Magnus Atilade, archbishop and chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Southwest, has assured Nigerians that the Boko Haram insurgency will end in July 2014 while the abducted Chibok girls will be released before the end of June. Atilade said the assurance was based on divine revelations he and the other members of the association received at the end of a seven-day fasting and prayers programme, organized by CAN Southwest and Christian Welfare Initiative, CWI, in Lagos.

The archbishop who revealed this in an exclusive interview with TELL said, “We subjected ourselves to that exercise and humbled ourselves in penitence, we sought the intervention of God, at the end of this it was shown to us that the kidnapped girls will be released in the sixth month of this year and that in the seventh month of this year, the insurgency will come to an end.”

On the recent directive of Joseph Mbu, commissioner of Police, Abuja, banning protests on the abducted girls on security grounds, the archbishop who is also a professor of Medicine as well as president, Gospel Baptist Conference of Nigeria And Overseas, GBCN and O, noted that the Police might be right. He however said that, “it would have been better if he (Mbu) appeals to people, I will not be in favour of strong tactics to deny people their rights. The Police should adopt the way of appeal.”
