Court stops Adamawa bye-election, orders reinstatement of Ngilari

A Federal High Court in Abuja, has ordered the immediate swearing-in of Bala Ngilari,   former deputy governor of Adamawa State as the state governor.

Delivering judgment in a suit filed by Ngilari challenging his purported resignation as deputy governor shortly before Murtala Nyako, former governor of Adamawa was impeached from office, the court declared the resignation as null, void and invalid.

The court decision has stopped the bye-election in the state.
