FUTA DON Wins World Bank N10M Research Grant

Ayoola Olalusi, a lecturer at the Department of Agricultural Engineering in the School of Engineering and Engineering Technology, SEET,Federal University of Technology, FUTA, Akure, Ondo State, has won a World Bank Research Grant Scheme to the tune of N10.2M.

Olalusi’s proposal titled, “Development and Evaluation of a floating fish feed extruder,” which won the grant was routed through the West Africa Agricultural Productivity Programme, WAAPP-Nigeria.

The research, which is to be conducted by Olalusi, is a WAAPP/ Agricultural Council of Nigeria initiative under the aegis of the World Bank.

AdebiyiDaramola,Vice-Chancellor of the University, said the World Bank Research grant to Olalusi has further confirmed FUTA’s leadership ability and competence in cutting edge research.

“The University, which is a World Bank Centre of Excellence in food security, will continue to strengthen its research capabilities and structures in order to continue to contribute meaningfully to solving societal problems and global needs in the area of research and adaptation of appropriate technology,” he added.

Daramola congratulated the recipient saying the researcher would justify the confidence reposed in him by the World Bank in the extant tradition of FUTA.
