Agagu defected alongside the former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Victor Olabimtan.

Others include Taofeek Abdulsalam, speaker and state coordinator presidential campaign 2011, Sanya Orungbemi, PDP chairman 2006, Kunle Adebayo; director PDP Presidential campaign 2011 and special adviser, PDP governorship campaign 2012, some members of the National Assembly, Speakers and members of the Ondo State House of Assembly, commissioners and Special Advisers.

Former Commissioners that defected include Niran Sule, Special Duties, Bukola Tenabe, Women Affairs, Tola Wewe, Tourism; Boye Adegbemisoye, Community Development; Olaitan Ayeni, Works and Tola Aworh.

They were received along with their supporters at the APC state Secretariat along Oyemekun Road in Akure, while pledging their support for the emergence of Muhammadu Buhari and his running mate, Yemi Osinbajo in the coming election.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Agagu said they took the decision after lengthy sessions of consultation with friends, political associates as well as their supporters across the 203 wards of the state.

“Our hands are now on the plough and there is no looking back. Indeed we are convinced that in the battle between the people of Nigeria and PDP, the people shall surely win,” Agagu said at the occasion.

Isaac Kekemeke, APC state Chairman, said the calibre of people that were defecting to the party signaled that change had come to the state.
