The commander of United States Central Command (CENTCOM), Admiral Brad Cooper, has delivered a high-stakes operational update on the fourth day of the U.S.-led military campaign known as Operation Epic Fury, outlining what he described as sweeping battlefield gains against Iran.

In a video briefing shared across official channels, Cooper began by honoring American service members killed in action and offering prayers for the wounded. He then detailed what he called “significant progress,” stating that the campaign is moving faster than initially projected.

According to the admiral, U.S. and allied forces have struck nearly 2,000 targets in under 100 hours, deploying more than 2,000 munitions. He said Iranian air defense systems have been severely degraded and that hundreds of ballistic missiles, launchers, and drones have been destroyed. Long-range bombers, including B-2, B-1, and B-52 aircraft, have carried out deep strikes on missile facilities and command posts.

Cooper further claimed that 17 Iranian naval vessels, including a major submarine, have been sunk, leaving no Iranian ships operational in the Arabian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, or the Gulf of Oman.

The operation reportedly began February 28 under the direction of U.S. President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. Cooper described the deployment as the largest U.S. military buildup in the Middle East in a generation, involving more than 50,000 troops, over 200 fighter jets, two aircraft carriers, and multiple bomber units, with reinforcements still arriving.

He compared the opening phase to the 2003 “Shock and Awe” campaign, saying the initial 24 hours of Operation Epic Fury were nearly double that scale.

Iran has reportedly responded with more than 500 ballistic missiles and approximately 2,000 drones. U.S. officials characterized the retaliation as largely indiscriminate. However, Cooper assessed that Iran’s offensive capacity is rapidly diminishing as U.S. forces continue targeting remaining mobile missile launchers.

“We’re focused on shooting all the things that can shoot at us,” Cooper said, describing continuous dynamic targeting operations.

The admiral emphasized coordination across all military branches, including Navy carrier strike groups launching cruise missiles, U.S. and Israeli air forces operating across Iranian airspace, and the Army deploying long-range Precision Strike Missiles in combat for the first time. CENTCOM’s Task Force Scorpion Strike has also utilized advanced one-way attack drones during the campaign.

The stated objectives of Operation Epic Fury include eliminating Iran’s missile arsenal, neutralizing its naval forces, degrading proxy networks, and preventing any nuclear weapons development. Cooper expressed confidence that those goals will be met, stating that the campaign remains “ahead of our game plan.”

As operations continue across air, sea, cyber, and space domains, global attention remains fixed on the evolving conflict. Analysts caution that further escalation could impact regional stability, global shipping lanes, and international energy markets.

The situation remains fluid, and independent verification of battlefield claims is ongoing. More updates are expected as developments unfold.
