Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State is troubled about reports of harassment and bullying of corporate bodies in Port Harcourt for money by Obio/Akpor local government.   Wike, who spoke while swearing in the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of Obio/Akpor Local Government at Government House, warned that he did not want to hear complaints again from companies that the council chairman was forcing them to part with money.   The governor warned the council chairman, Bright Amaewhule, to stop impounding vehicles of corporate bodies that failed to pay levies listed by the council.   He said the actions of the council chairman had become embarrassing to him as governor and he would take it anymore.   “This should be the last time you harass companies and impound vehicles. You cannot embarrass this government. It is not what you do that will make you a rich man in the three months of your appointment.    He asked the councils to concentrate on providing security and environmental sanitation and refrain from executing capital projects.   “Don’t say you are building health centre or youth centre. This is not the time you will carry money to go and share with godfathers,” the governor warned.
