Afrobeats icon Tiwa Savage has officially launched the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation (TSMF), a groundbreaking initiative aimed at empowering the next generation of African music professionals through education, mentorship, and global industry exposure.

In a heartfelt announcement shared on X, the award-winning singer reflected on her own journey and her desire to create access for young creatives across the continent.

“I’ve been lucky to have access in my journey. Now, through the @TSMFOFFICIAL, I’m using everything I’ve learned to create the same for the next generation of African creatives — sound engineers, producers, executives, instrumentalists, songwriters, and the whole ecosystem that supports the music industry,” she wrote.

The foundation’s flagship initiative is already generating significant buzz: a fully funded four-day intensive program titled Berklee in Nigeria: Tiwa Savage Intensive Music Program, created in partnership with her alma mater, Berklee College of Music.

Scheduled to take place in Lagos from April 23 to 26, 2026, the program will select up to 100 participants for immersive, hands-on training in musicianship, music production, songwriting, and music business development. Faculty members from Berklee will lead sessions, blending the institution’s globally respected curriculum with Africa’s dynamic and rapidly evolving music landscape.

Applications are currently open and will close on March 20, 2026. The program is fully funded, meaning selected participants will receive world-class training at no cost.

Savage, a proud Berklee alumna, has described the initiative as a commitment to “building at home” after years of international success. Industry observers have praised the move as potentially transformative for Afrobeats and the wider African music ecosystem, noting that the foundation goes beyond spotlighting performers to also support behind-the-scenes professionals who power the industry.

The official TSMF account emphasizes its focus on the full creative pipeline — from artists on stage to engineers, producers, managers, and executives shaping the business of music.

With Afrobeats continuing its global rise, the launch of the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation signals a strategic investment in sustainable talent development across Africa. For many aspiring creatives, this initiative could represent a rare bridge between local talent and global opportunity.

For application details and updates, interested candidates are encouraged to follow the foundation’s official channels and Berklee’s program information page.
