Ekiti Polls: Segun Oni Dumps PDP for APC

Olusegun Oni, former governor and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the June 21 guber polls in the Southwest state.

Oni announced this Monday at an APC rally held in Ifaki-Ekiti, his hometown where he and his teaming supporters joined the APC.

The former governor who was elected governor of the state in 2009 under the platform of PDP lost his mandate to Kayode Fayemi.

It is believed that Oni’s decision to leave the PDP may not be unconnected with the unfriendly relationship between him and Ayodele Fayose, PDP flag bearer in the upcoming election.
